Nick Ingman's 1976 record "Terminator" takes his sound in a different direction to "Big Beat". The tracks are longer, more experimental and utilise a bunch of diverse instruments. Included are insanely groovy cover versions of "Come Together" and "American Pie", meanwhile deep bass and horns take centre stage on "That's Fine" and things turn dark and mysterious on "An Octave Faster". It is a curious mix of songs that don't necessarily combine into a cohesive whole but each piece of music is so compelling in it's own right that it overrides any misgivings. This album is highly recommended. A fantastic cover too, don't you think?
